High Temperature Vacuum Furnace Lining

Concrete based on cubic zirconia stabilized by yttrium oxide possesses every property needed for it to be used in lining high temperature vacuum furnaces. These properties include low thermal conductivity, stable geometric dimensions, stability in various environments and relative inexpensiveness. At the same time, its thermal resistance is higher than that of baddeleyit, dolomite, spinel –based materials. It functions at temperatures of up to 2500 oС making it useful for operations with titanium, chromium, vanadium and other high-melting metal alloys applied in the aerospace and nuclear power industries. Consequently, it is irreplaceable in high-purity manufacturing processes.
As a relatively cheap and high-quality refractory, cubic zirconia concrete can be used to line steel-melting furnaces of different types.
